You see where this season is going, don’t you? If not, things will be much clearer after this Saturday when the Alabama Destroys Everyone’s Dreams Tour stops off in Knox Vegas while the Ohio State Destroys Everyone’s Dreams Tour stops off in the land of the fifth quarter.
Alabama @ Tennessee – bUTch and friends will need a whole lot more than pixie dust this week. If it seems like the Vols have been slowly making it over the hump for the last three years, it’s because they have. Can they make it all the way over? We’ll all find out together, but in case you’re busy on Saturday, the answer is no, they can’t.
Stanford @ Notre Dame – Welcome to this week’s Disappointing Bowl. D’ya think Domer Nation will be a little upset if they’re 2-5 come Sunday morning?
Ohio State @ Wisconsin – It’s time for big-boy, real-man, three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust B1G football. Until J.T. Barrett drops 350 yards on the Badgers, anyway.
Tulsa @ Houston – Tulsa’s done a really good job of bouncing back from the near-dead. Too bad Houston’s going to be planning their own little bounceback session this week.
Southern Miss @ LSU – Tigers return from their unscheduled week off to find a better Eagles team they expected waiting for them in Death Valley. Danny Etling isn’t the savior, and neither is Coach Eaux. None of that will matter this week, of course.
North Carolina @ Miami – How ’bout that Mitch Trubisky? Anyway, ‘Canes by two or three touchdowns.
Ole Miss @ Arkansas – Somebody’s going to be unranked and pissed come Sunday evening. Bret Bielema does pissed so well that you have to think it’ll be him. On the other hand, a loss here just might keep Hugh Freeze from jumping to a better gig in December.
New Mexico State @ Idaho – Just kidding. Who cares? (Though this would be a really mediocre Big Sky matchup.)
